The JKMF is continuously stocking Johnny’s Closet, a one-of-a-kind wardrobe located in the Goryeb Children’s Hospital (GCH) / Valerie Fund Center in Morristown, NJ, where our beloved Johnny bravely underwent treatment.
The inspiration for this initiative came to Gayle Kinney after reflecting on the countless hours spent at GCH and the Valerie Center. Johnny’s daily and weekly check-ups often led to unexpected situations where a change of clothing was needed, for Johnny or even for Gayle. Too often, a change of clothes wasn’t available, or if it was, the size just wasn’t right.
Having lived through those challenges, the Kinneys knew firsthand how meaningful it would be to provide children and caregivers with comfort and dignity during their hospital stays. Out of that love and understanding, Johnny’s Closet was born.
Today, Johnny’s Closet provides not only new clothing (infant through adult sizes), but also comfort items such as:
✨ Large, soft, and fun printed blankets
✨ Cozy pillowcases in cheerful designs
✨ Stuffed animals for kids of all ages
✨ Other comfort items that bring a little warmth and joy to an often difficult journey
This innovative program continuously brings comfort and relief to countless pediatric patients and their families, offering them what they need for treatments, outpatient appointments, hospital stays, and the many unexpected moments that arise. Most importantly, every item is given with love, carrying forward Johnny’s spirit of kindness, laughter, and care for others.

Johnny Kinney Memorial Foundation
136 Route 10, Unit 142
East Hanover, NJ 07936
(Mailed in / Dropped-off items must still be sealed/boxed and clearly addressed as above.)
We are seeking new items in sizes ranging from infant to adult, including: socks, underwear, leggings, sweatpants, joggers, t-shirts, undershirts, zip-up hoodies, chemo port-access shirts, pajama sets, blankets, pillowcases, stuffed animals, and more. (Zip-up and button-up options are especially appreciated, as many patients have accessed ports or IV lines. Standard pull-over hoodies/sweatshirts are not ideal.)
Please note: To protect the health of patients, only new items can be accepted.
Your generosity makes a direct and meaningful difference in the lives of children and families facing pediatric cancer. With every donation, you are helping us continue Johnny’s legacy — to love deeply, give freely, and make sure no child feels alone in their fight.
With heartfelt gratitude,
💛 The Johnny Kinney Memorial Foundation Family
